Trichocereus Bridgesii “Sylph”. This plant has been in the collection for ages, yet never released nor named. Most likely Selected/survived from a seed batch bought on eBay Australia, but it could be something else at the Huntington Gardens 😩. It grows slender and when adult drops spines like champions from

Bolivia. An important note for your breeding projects: It flowers! Relevant because bridges are rare to do so in temperate climates. Any way, it’s a warrior and one of a kind.

Description

Trichocereus Bridgesii “Sylph” .

Trichocereus Bridgesii “Sylph” cuttings available.
This unique and long-kept cultivar has been part of a private collection for many years, never officially released or named until now. Sylph most likely originated from a seed batch sourced in Australia, or a mislabel — though its exact lineage remains part of its mystery and charm.

In growth, Sylph develops into a slender and elegant columnar cactus with smooth skin and subtle blue-green tones. As it matures, it tends to drop its spines naturally, a rare and desirable trait seen in only a few Bolivian Bridgesii types. This gives adult plants a clean, almost sculptural appearance that stands out beautifully in any collection.

What truly makes Trichocereus Bridgesii “Sylph” special is its ability to flower. Flowering Bridgesii are uncommon, especially in temperate climates, making this clone valuable for breeding and hybridization projects. Its resilience, adaptability, and strong growth habit have made it a proven survivor — a true “warrior” among cacti.

Each cutting offered comes from a healthy, well-established mother plant, carefully selected and prepared for successful rooting.
