Tulhuayachensis is a rare species of cactus native to the region of Tulhuayaco in Huancavelica, Peru. The KK337 cultivar refers to a specific strain of this species that was collected by Karel Knize in the wild.

The KK337 cultivar is highly prized among cactus enthusiasts for its unique characteristics, such as its blue-green color, its spine coloration and its vibrant magenta flowers.

Description

The cacti biosphere in Tulhuayaco, Huancavelica, Peru is a unique and diverse ecosystem that is home to a variety of plant species, including many endemic species that are found nowhere else in the world.

Trichocereus tulhuayachensis is one such endemic species that is found only in the Tulhuayaco. This species is well-adapted to the arid, rocky terrain of the region and can grow up to several meters in height. It has blue-green stems and produces large red flowers with long tubes.

In addition to Trichocereus tulhuayachensis, there are several other endemic plants and succulents that are found in this region. One example is the Echinopsis huancavelicaensis, which is a small cactus with yellow flowers that is found only in Huancavelica, Peru. Another example is the Tillandsia huancavelicaensis, which is a type of air plant that grows on rocks and trees in the area.
